The following text is from before the team participated in the Mongol Rally 2014:

Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines! 2 guys, 18.000 KM, 18 countries, 5 mountain ranges, a desert and a granny car! From Western Europe to the lands of Ghengis Khan by car. Sounds like an epic adventure right?

We are two adventures danish vikings attempting to drive a shitty car from London, UK to Ulaanbataar, Mongolia during the summer of 2014 as part of the Mongolian Rally. We expect to get lost, get car breakdowns, be subject to ridiculous bureaucratic border crossings and more. The idea is to make life a little less boring, even if it entails putting ourselves in some “sticky” situations. In short the Mongolian Rally is motoring stupidity on a global scale.

However as part of the Rally we are obligated to donate a large sum of money to the official charity of the race. This year the official charity is called Cool Earth and is an organization who fights to preserve the worlds rainforests.

The Route

From London to Ulaanbaatar, but which way?

We have chosen a rather scenic drive along the so called “southern” route. It looks roughly like this:
